1) New technology of surface modification and composite strengthening. In order to solve the world's major technical problem of surface decarburization of spring products in the process of hot rolling, the new technology of surface ultrasonic deep rolling or high load rolling is creatively adopted to modify the spring steel hot rolled bar material before hot rolling, and obtain the deformation texture layer with gradient structure, which provides a new way to greatly improve the mechanical properties and life of the spring. In order to solve the problem of fatigue crack initiation caused by stress concentration, high pressure water jet technology was used to strengthen the local high energy composite modification.
2) New methods of organizational regulation. In order to improve the yield strength of spring products, an innovative new process is proposed, that is, after slow cooling after hot winding, a low temperature area slightly above the critical zone Ac3 is heated for rapid quenching, which can not only achieve ultra-fine grain, but also obtain micro-nano scale twin substructure during the rapid cooling process, which significantly improves the yield strength and elastic reduction resistance of spring products. Aiming at the existing spring steel, especially the ultra-high strength spring steel with low plastic toughness, which leads to cracks in cold coiling forming process and difficulties in cold coiling forming, the spring wire after hot rolling is obtained by Q-I-Q-T heat treatment process with martensite plus transitional bainite and metastable residual austenite multiphase structure. Thus, the cold-forming performance of the spring is significantly improved.
3) New process of spring flattening and grinding. By increasing the thickness of the roller tip and the length of the roller tip without increasing the length of the material, the twisting phenomenon caused by bending and torsion deformation in the rolling process is reduced, and the length of the spring contact line is guaranteed. Automatic flattening, high flatness, no folding and no distortion of flat surface is realized by using automatic grinding tip forging equipment. After heat treatment, brittle secondary quenching martensite is easy to form during high temperature cooling, which leads to early fracture. Automatic spring grinding equipment is adopted, and the brittle problem of secondary martensite is eliminated by refining grain, optimizing grinding process and cooling conditions, and conducting short-time rapid tempering at medium temperature.
4) Fully automatic rolling production line development. In view of the relatively backward equipment of spring winding machine in China, poor spring precision, low degree of automation, and extremely low production efficiency, a fully automatic electric heating, spring winding, heat treatment, pressure spring, end treatment, inspection production line has been developed jointly with equipment manufacturing enterprises to achieve good deformation consistency in the rolling process, spring dimensional precision control and high precision in section grinding.
